I was fortunate to be able to attend the first production that Stage 62 presented post-Covid. The May 15th production of Forever Plaid showed all the lucky people in attendance that this company was beginning this new era of Pittsburgh Theater right where they left off at the end of the 2019 season. On top.
Ryan Hadbavny, Shan Putorek, Jeff Way and Jeremy Spoljarick did a great job of singing hit songs that some of the audience members probably remembered from when they were first played on AM radios. Even younger members of the audience were seen singing along with the quartet on some numbers. Laughter was heard throughout the crowd while the group brought their harmony to tunes that were never intended to be sung in the Forever Plaid style.
Thanks to director Seth Laidlaw and the Stage 62 crew for delivering a story that everyone could relate to. This production of Forever Plaid at the Crafton Park Amphitheatre will create memories.
The production will be presented this weekend, on the 22nd and 23rd of May at 2pm. Tickets are available online at Stage62.0rg
