“Every business needs a support team,” said Gail Bayer, owner of Innovative Bookkeeping. Since 1989, Gail has been an integral team member for many entrepreneurs and businesses in the Pittsburgh area, providing bookkeeping services and training bookkeepers in QuickBooks accounting software.
“I started bookkeeping for my parent’s real estate business when my children were born. My mother had a crib, and she played with the baby while I worked. I learned bookkeeping from my mother, and she learned from my grandmother.” Gail laughed. “It’s a generational thing.”
As her children grew older and went to school, Gail acquired more clients. Today, she has 25-30 clients. “Some I work for once a month, others once a week. No business is too small. My clients range from sole proprietors to corporations. Mostly I work remotely from my home, but I will come to your office as needed. I care about my clients and bring my years of experience to solve your problems.”
Most of Gail’s clients come from referrals. “Accountants often refer me to their clients. A good bookkeeper should be able to hand off your books to your accountant in good order,” Gail said.
She believes that running a business is a team effort. “You need competent professionals on board no matter what kind of business you have. You can’t have someone who is poison on your team, especially when it comes to keeping financial records,” said Gail. Her services include Accounts Payable/Receivable, Bank and Credit Card Reconciliation, and Bookkeeping Cleanup for companies wishing to redo or audit their books.
Poorly kept financial records not only cost a business time, but it also costs them money. “My mission is to lift the bookkeeping burden from your shoulders. I aim to save a business money, daily, weekly, and yearly,” Gail said.
